Artist Statement
Painting is a dance. I will boldly go where my heart and the movements take me...fluid and calm or reckless and wild. Captured snapshots of my surroundings provide the inspiration. Colour and texture are thrown across the canvas using rollers, knives, squeegees, sometimes even a brush; never knowing completely where it will go, spontaneous and unexpected results unfold.
My current large canvas work allows my free spirit to soar...playing with colour combinations gives me pure joy and contentment. I look forward to this life-long journey and the ever changing path before me. Now that I have caught a glimpse of the promise within myself to create, I am excited to continue telling my stories through my paintings.

Biography
Born in Kingston, Ontario Patti studied engineering at Queen's University and Architectural Technology at Algonquin College in Ottawa, Ontario.
A successful designer and project manager in the residential construction industry in Fernie, BC for twenty years, Patti now dedicates herself to a thriving, professional artistic practice. As a self-taught artist, Patti primarily creates acrylic and ink interpretive abstract paintings on canvas. She has returned to her home town roots and currently paints from her studio in Kingston, Ontario.
Patti's energy, enthusiasm and passion naturally sweeps the viewer into a world where both artist and viewer are ignited to find joy and meaning through art.
Her work has been placed in several private collections across Canada and the United States and is currently represented by ESPACE33 Gallery in Gatineau, QC (www.espace33.ca) and her on-line and in-home studios.
